Lorene McGowan, 92, of Jamestown, KY passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Somerset, KY on June 2, 1929, a daughter of the late Martha (Hansford) and Link Whitaker. 

She was a homemaker.

2 daughters: Joyce (Kenney) Wilson of Russell Springs, KY and Elizabeth Richards of Jamestown, KY
4 sons: Wendell McGowan of Russell Springs, KY; James Goble (Patsy) McGowan of Jamestown, KY; Carlos (Linda) McGowan of Jamestown, KY; Gary (Mary) McGowan of Panama City Beach, FL
26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Cosby McGowan; 1 daughter, Lois McGowan; and 2 sisters: Flossie Johnson and Myrtle Bryant. 

Funeral Service: Friday, December 24, 2021 at 1:00pmCT at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating

Visitation: After 11:00amCT on Friday at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel

Interment: Jamestown Cemetery

The family requests anyone attending to please wear a face mask.
