Dorothy J. James, 85, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was born December 28, 1934, in Adair County to the late Homer and Pearl Stephens Harmon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arvist “Stick” Harmon and 2 sisters: Frances Pendleton and Elizabeth Harmon.
Dorothy was a member of Welfare Baptist Church in Russell County and formerly employed by Russell Sportswear.

1 son: Troy James of Columbia, KY
1 brother: Thomas “Punk” Harmon & wife Lois of Columbia, KY
1 sister-in-law: Irene Harmon of Glensfork, KY
5 nieces: Phyllis Curry, Lee Ann Jessee, Debbie Reynolds, Beverly Bryant, & Lisa VanArsdale
3 nephews: Steve Harmon, Daryl and David Pendleton
Ms. James chose Cremation and the family will have a Private Graveside Service in the Columbia Cemetery with Pastor Jerald Bryant officiating
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Green River Animal Shelter would be appreciated and can be left at the funeral home or mailed to 455 Appleby Drive, Columbia, KY 42728.
