JAMES ABSHER, 93, COLUMBIA, KY


James Absher, 93, of Columbia, KY died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Grandview Nursing & Rehab in Campbellsville. He was born February 4, 1927 in Adair County, KY to the late Joe and Emer Moore Absher.  

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Corbin Absher; 2 grandchildren: Gregory Wayne Kemp & Alaina Adams; and a son-in-law, Norman Janes.

 

James was a US Army Veteran, a former factory worker, school bus driver, mechanic and farmer.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 sons: James Absher of Tennessee; Joe Absher & wife Sue of Tennessee; Archie Absher & wife Beverly of Campbellsville

2 daughters: Janet Janes of Campbellsville; Emma Jewell & husband Don of Glasgow

2 sisters: Alma Ferguson & Lois Claiborne both of Columbia

8 grandchildren: William Absher, Gary Rackley, Angie Adams, Schella Pittman, Brian Kemp, David Michael Absher, SSG Jeffery B. Absher, James Ray Absher

13 Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Curtis and Rev. Elbert Hadley officiating

 

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 5:00 P.M. Friday

 

ALL ATTENDEES TO THE VISITATION AND/OR FUNERAL ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACIAL COVERING AND FOLLOW HEALTHY AT WORK GUIDELINES
