JAMES "JIGGS" SMITH, 69, ADAIR CO.

 
James Ronald “Jiggs” Smith, 69, of the Portland community in Adair County, KY died Sunday, May 17, 2020 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born October 31, 1950 in Adair County to the late James Robert and Jessie Ruth Pyles Smith.
 
Jiggs attended Pickett’s Chapel United Methodist Church and drove a truck for Coffey’s Trucking Company for over 30 years. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Smith.
 
SURVIVORS:
Wife: Lelia May Stilts Smith of Portland
2 daughters: Stephanie Rene’ Dunbar and her husband Cary “Red” Dunbar of Greensburg & Kelli Katina Shepherd of Portland
3 brothers & sisters-in-law: Barry & Minnie Smith, Colby & Connie Smith, Jerry & Sandy Smith all of Columbia
1 sister & brother-in-law: Pam & Kenneth Montgomery of Columbia
8 grandchildren
3 great-grandchildren
3 nieces & 2 nephews
A host of other relatives and friends
 
The family has chosen a Drive-Thru visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home. The funeral service and burial in Tarter’s Chapel Cemetery will be private.
 
The family request that no flowers be sent, but would rather a donation be made in the form of Gideon Bibles, to the Tarter’s Chapel Cemetery Fund or to the Pickett’s Chapel Church Building Fund.  These can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
 
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
