Welby Martin, 69, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Vernon “Radio” Martin & Arlie Mae Brockman Martin, was born August 29, 1948 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 12:05 P.M., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Campbellsville.
Welby was a retired glazer with Central Kentucky Glass Company. He professed faith in Christ and attended Pitman Valley Baptist Church. Welby love traveling, listening to gospel music with his wife, camping and UK basketball, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.
He united in marriage to Doris Jean Stephens June 11, 1977 and she preceded him in death November 17, 2013.
SURVIVORS: 1 son and 1 daughter: Rodney Martin and Cindie Sharp & husband Ernie of Campbellsville; 5 grandchildren: Gabriel Sharp & Breanna Sharp of Campbellsville, Zachery Sharp of Dallas, Texas, Mark Martin & Hannah Martin of Eubank, KY; 2 brothers: Wallace Martin and wife Sandy of Georgetown and Ervin Martin & wife Linda of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Joyce Lee & Juanita Carter.
