Roger Burton, 69, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:55 P.M. at his home after a short illness.
He was born August 25, 1948, in Adair County, to the late Ernest and Margaret Rice Burton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Kevin “Nator” Brockman.
Roger served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church, a Mason and retired from General Electric.
Survivors include:
One son – Roger Lee Burton of Mt. Washington
One brother – Danny Brockman of Columbia
Six sisters – Sharon Bates of Greensburg, Sherry Hodges of Bowling Green, Donna Loy, Sandy Crawhorn and Connie Ferguson all of Columbia, Tonya Dunn of Louisville
His Girlfriend – Anita Durbin of Columbia
Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Funeral service – Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Willis officiating
Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery escorted by the Patriot Guard with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097
Visitation after 3:00 P.M. Monday
Masonic rites will be held Monday at 7:00 P.M. by Columbia Lodge 96
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
