Jeryl Ray “Jerry” Kuhn, 47, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at T. J. Health Columbia.  Born in Akron, OH he was the son of the late Jeryl Kuhn and Patsy Buheit Kuhn of Columbia who survives. 
 
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Sue Kuhn.
 
Jerry was an auto mechanic and the most selfless man and would help anyone in need.

Edith Snow age 87, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Liberty Care Center. She was born in Kings Mountain, KY on November 20, 1931 a daughter of the late Owen Oscar Napier and Ethel Martin Napier.

 

Edith was the widow of Earl Snow.

 

Edith was a housewife and a member of Corinth First Church of God. She loved spending time with her family and loved to travel, her favorite places being Florida and the Smokey Mountains.

Cleo Hershel Lawhorn, 87, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Russell County Hospital. He was born in Columbia, KY on July 27th, 1931 a son of the late Alvin and Eliza Shell Lawhorn.

 

Cleo was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, former Deputy for Casey County Sheriff’s Department, former Police Office for Liberty Police Department and Hustonville Police Department and was the Night Watchman for Murphy Gate Co.

Gary W. Woodrum, 62, of Liberty, KY passed from this life on Friday, January 18, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on September 3, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Arvil and Helen Clements Woodrum.

 

Gary loved camping and NASCAR.

 

On March 18, 1980, he married the former Lisa Richardson, who survives. Ronny professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Ronny was a retired employee for the County Judge office in Green County. He was an avid Kentucky fan who enjoyed farming, gardening, woodworking and taking care of his animals.

Gary Wayne Beard, 59, of Campbellsville, son of the late Charles Allen Beard and Mona Mann Beard, was born January 9, 1960 in Taylor County, KY.  He died at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Campbellsville. 

 

He was of the Baptist faith. 

 

He received an associate of business management degree from Bluegrass Community Technical College before attending the University of Kentucky.

 

Gary was a former food service employee. He enjoyed listening to rock and roll music, watching countless movies and fishing with his sons. Gary was very charismatic and never met a stranger.

 

He is survived by three sons and one daughter: Noah Beard and Dylan Beard of Lexington, Allie Beard and fiancé, Alec Stoess of Wimauma, Florida and Gary Lynn Beard of Campbellsville; one grandson, Braylon Beard; three brothers and two sisters: Michael Beard and wife, Rhonda, Ronnie Beard and Rita Parsons of Campbellsville, Donnie Beard and wife, Marsha of Knifley and Charlotte Parnell of Hamilton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Donna Bland, Janet Whitaker and Brenda Colvin.

Mary Eilleen Dotson, 32, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home after an extended illness. She was a daughter of Linda (Dotson) Shepherd.
 
Mary had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Dotson suffered many physical hindrances during her life, but her love for her family and friends never waned. She had a soft spot for sick animals, and nursed many a stray back to health.

Richard Parker “Chuck” Rogers, 58, died January 6, 2019 in Birmingham, AL. Chuck was born in Russellville, KY and grew up in Louisville, KY.
 
He attended Schaffner Elementary school and Suda E. Butler High School where he excelled scholastically. He went on to graduate from Samford University in Birmingham with a bachelors of science cum laude in biology and mathematics also earning a masters degree in biology. After completing 2 years of medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he transferred to the UAB Rollins School of Public Health where he earned another masters degree in epidemiology and completed all of the coursework required for a doctorate in public health.
 
Chuck worked as a graduate teaching assistant and adjunct professor at Samford University, a cytogenetic technician at UAB Medical Genetics Laboratory, and a periodicals paraprofessional at Samford Library. For most of his professional life, Chuck worked for the Alabama Department of Public Health. He served as the HIV Seroprevalence Research Coordinator and the HIV Prevention Coordinator for Jefferson County and Epidemiological Consultant for the Alabama Department of Public Health and was eventually promoted to the Director of HIV Surveillance for the entire state.
 
Chuck was raised in the 18th Street Baptist Church in Louisville where he was a vital member of the church family. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church of the Covenant in Birmingham where he served as a deacon, a trustee, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, and the handbell choir. Chuck was an avid bibliophile and accrued a vast collection of Southern literature. 
 
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Coy & Lois Rogers, Golden & Flora Parker.

David Waggener, 74, of Columbia, KY passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 under the care of Lake Cumberland Hospice from cancer.  His family members and his beloved dog, Pug, were at his side. Joseph David Waggener was born on April 24, 1944 in Glasgow, KY and was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Baker Waggener and Gertrude Gentry Waggener.  
 
Prior to his passing, David lived in Columbia for 24 years, having left Rockport, MA to be closer to his sister, Barbara Barnes and her husband, Charles. Raised in Orlando, FL, by all standards, David led a full and active life academically, personally and professionally. He received degrees from the University of South Florida in Tampa, an MBA from the University of Florida, and was accepted into the Doctoral program at Harvard University.  Prior to owning his restaurant in Rockport, David worked for NBC on the iconic Johnny Carson Show screening, interviewing and scheduling guest for the show. He was an accomplished Chef and owner of the famous restaurant “Hannah Jumper” on Bearskin Neck in Rockport for 20 years. During his time in Columbia, he was employed by FEMA and HUD.
 
David was a generous citizen of the world who traveled the globe extensively in his spare time, sharing his life with family and friends. He was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and the Adair County Chamber of Commerce. David was also an advocate for animal rights and an avid lover of pets. His enthusiasm for world history and being a master “prankster” to his family and friends brought him great joy!

Karen Gail Sapp Fawcett, 62, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of Margaret Rodgers Sapp and the late Samuel Sapp, was born August 5, 1956 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 12:34 P.M., Monday, January 14, 2019 in Elizabethtown.   
 
She professed faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church. Karen was an employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for eighteen years and more recently, was employed as an administrative assistant to the Director of Athletics at Campbellsville University for fourteen years.
 
She was passionate about health and believed in the power of Jesus and His healing. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and time relaxing at the beach.
 
She united in marriage to Bill Fawcett May 14, 1981.
 
Besides her husband, Bill Fawcett, she is survived by one daughter, Lynde Landis and Richie Zuniga of Campbellsville; one step-son, Chad Fawcett and wife, Sharonda of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Will Landis and Knox Landis of Campbellsville and Zach Fawcett of Glasgow; her mother,  Margaret Sapp of Campbellsville; two brothers and one sister:  Steve Sapp of Campbellsville, Brad Sapp and wife, Sheryl of Hudgins and Jennifer Wethington and husband, Van of Bowling Green; her mother-in-law, Hazel Fawcett of Campbellsville and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She professed faith in Christ and attended Elkhorn Tabernacle. Pauline was a retired seamstress in the family drapery business.
 
She united in marriage to Dewain Townsend July 14, 1955.
 
Besides her husband, Dewain Townsend of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Pauline is survived by 3 children: Steve Kinney and wife, Ann, Nena Razor and husband, Kevin and Doug Townsend of Louisville; 1 grandson, Timothy Kinney and wife, Angela Renee of Brandenburg; 1 great-grandson, Jacob Ryan Kinney of Brandenburg; 1 brother, John Kinney and wife, Carolyn of Hendersonville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
 
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Olive Kinney Easterly and Coralee Kinney Fussell.

William Floyd "Bill" Davis, 76, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  He was born on January 27, 1942. 
 
Mr. Davis was a salesman, and worked many years serving the people of Taylor County from the Helig-Meyers Furniture Store, and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed his family time, and spent many an evening watching a football or basketball game with them. 
 
SURVIVORS:
Former spouse: Mona Davis of Campbellsville
2 children: Misty Cobb of Campbellsville, and Tommy Davis, Sr. and wife Hazel of San Diego, California
5 grandchildren: Adrian Cobb, Kali Whitlow, Christian Rodriguez, Lexi Rodriguez, and Tommy Davis, Jr.
2 great-grandchildren: Ariana Cobb-Lamer, and Aaliyah Cobb-Lamer
A host of other family and friends
 
Mr. Davis had desired to advance science, and had enrolled in the body bequeathment program at the University of Louisville. 
 
All memorial services were held privately.
