Jeanette Smith, 78, of Campbellsville, KY peacefully departed this life at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY on October 16, 2026.

Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Jeanette was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed working puzzles, preparing delicious meals, and listening to the timeless sounds of old classic music. These simple joys brought comfort and happiness to her days, reflecting her appreciation for the little things that make life special. Above all, Jeanette treasured the time she spent with her children and her beloved dog, who brought her companionship, comfort, and unconditional love.

Jeanette was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church, where she worshiped and found fellowship until her health began to decline. Her connection to the church was an important part of her life, and her faith remained a source of strength and comfort.

Although her passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, Jeanette’s family can find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to live on through the memories they hold dear. Her presence, her familiar ways, and the moments shared together will forever be treasured. The love of a mother, sister, grandmother, and friend never truly fades; it becomes a lasting part of the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Louis Smith; her parents, Phillip and Annabell Howard; two sisters: Veronica Howard Hackett and Tracy Howard; and four brothers: Lealzo Howard, Gordon Howard, Vincent Howard, and Arthur James Howard.

1 son: Tory Smith

Grandson: Vincent Taylor

4 sisters: Dorothy Howard Young, Bertha Howard Wallace, Margaret Howard Vickerson, and Lorene Howard Hawkins (Joseph)

1 brother: Eugene Howard (Annalisa)

As we remember Jeanette, may her family find peace in the love she gave, strength in the memories they shared, and comfort in knowing that her life made a lasting difference.
