Janet White Pickett, 93, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Gilbert White and Sarah Yates Lawrence, was born on August 28, 1933 in Shelbyville and departed this life on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith. Janet worked as a beautician for Gloria’s Beauty Shop and Green County Beauty Salon. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary #124, was the former State Poppy Membership Chairman, and a volunteer for Kentucky Girls State.

She was united in marriage to Hollan “Sonny” Pickett, Jr. on February 16, 1953, who preceded her in death on March 19, 2005.

1 daughter & her companion: Patti Strader and Steve Stone of Greensburg

1 granddaughter: Haley Strader of Greensburg

1 great-granddaughter: Jace Lowe of Greensburg

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Sammy Roe Pickett and William Lee Pickett; and her son-in-law, Greg Strader.

Burial: Greensburg Cemetery

Visitation: Friday, October 2, 2026 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT at the funeral home and Saturday after 7:00amCT

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Global Methodist Church Building Fund or American Legion Auxiliary Children and Youth which can both be made at the funeral home.
