Charles “C W” Mitchell, 92, of Green County, KY, son of the late Charles Conn Mitchell and Bess Rodgers Mitchell, was born on May 23, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Janet Wright’s Care Home. 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. C.W. was a lifelong farmer and grew up in the community of Ote, Kentucky where he helped his father run the sawmill, Ote Roller Mill, and the family general store. He served our country honorably in the United States Army.

C.W. was united in marriage to his wife, Sarah Cox Mitchell on June 27, 1958, and she preceded him in death on December 15, 2025.

2 sons & daughters-in-law: Charles Phillip (& Susie) Mitchell of Summersville, KY and Mike (& Ree Shana) Mitchell of Greensburg, KY

4 grandchildren: Gabriel (& Kara) Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, and Parker Mitchell all of Greensburg, KY; Emily (& Clint) Gibbs of Richmond, KY

1 great-grandchild: Kaylor Gibbs of Richmond

Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Blake Mitchell; and five sisters & four brothers: Bertha Anderson, Pansy Wright, Margarette Lego, Cytha Peacock, Clementine Longacres, Albert Mitchell, Crawford Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, and Arthur Mitchell.

Funeral Service: Friday, September 4, 2026 at 12:00pmCT at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church with Bro. Charlie Evans officiating

Burial: Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery with full military rites by the Marion County Honor Guard

Visitation: After 9:30amCT on Friday at the church
