Dedra Milby Bennett, 66, Summersville, KY

 

Dedra “DeeDee” Milby Bennett, 66, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Austin Milby and Minnie Irene Mays Milby, was born on February 10, 1960 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. 

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Dedra worked for the Green County School System as an Instructional Assistant for 27 years, prior to retirement.

 

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Cleta Cook and Carolyn Huff.

 

SURVIVORS:

Her husband: Barry Bennett of Summersville

2 sons & daughters-in-law: Joshua & Allison Bennett of Summersville, Andrew John-Austin & Suzanne Bennett of Campbellsville

1 daughter & son-in-law: Sarah & Zach Leftwich of Summersville

5 grandchildren: Ava Bennett, Jack Bennett, Lana Kate Leftwich, and Graham Leftwich all of Summersville, and Maverick Bennett of Campbellsville

3 brothers: Walter Wayne Milby and Leslie Milby of Summersville, and Mendell Milby of Columbia

Mother-in-law: Maxine Bennett of Summersville

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 12:00pmCT at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Shannon McCubbin officiating

 

Burial: Aetna Grove Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 8:00amCT on Saturday at the church

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
