Ethan Scott South, 29, Indiana (formerly of Greensburg)

 

Ethan Scott South, 29, of Indiana, formerly of Greensburg and Bowling Green, KY, a son of Scott Porter South of Bowling Green and the late Amy McGlone South, was born on June 17, 1997 in Louisville and departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at his home.

 

Ethan served our country honorably, having served in the United States Army, and went on to work as a Mechanical Technician for First Class Air Support. He would light up any room he walked into with his contagious laugh and big smile. Ethan was an outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing, and he always loved a good adventure. He was the best daddy to his daughter, Scarlett, who was his pride and joy.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 daughter: Scarlett South of Wisconsin

His father & step-mother: Scott & Shae South of Bowling Green

7 siblings: Mason South of Louisville, Conner & Kristen South of New York, Madison South of Campbellsville, Hayden Shelton, Hunter & Madison Shelton, Halle Shelton, and Hannah South all of Bowling Green

His grandparents: Beverly & Gwynne Gaddie of Russellville, Charlotte & LeRoy Bratcher of Campbellsville, and Mike Clark of Bowling Green

A host of other relatives & friends

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy McGlone South.

Memorial Service: Thursday, July 16, 2026 at  6:30pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. Steve Ayers officiating

 

Military Honors Service: Thursday at 7:00pmCT at the funeral home by the Marion County Honor Guard

 

Visitation: After 3:00pmCT on Thursday at the funeral home 

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Scarlett South’s Trust Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
