Marie Zane Neagle Davenport, 89, Campbellsville, KY

 

Marie Zane Neagle Davenport, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Gerthie Clifton Neagle and Ava Jones Neagle, was born on January 13, 1937 in Greensburg and departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Taylor Regional Hospital.

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of South Greensburg Baptist Church. Marie worked at Bandy’s & Oscar’s Restaurant as a cook and at Green Hill Manor as an aide.

 

Marie was united in marriage to Hubert Nelson Davenport on April 4, 1959 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2000. She later married Maxie G. Houk on October 19, 2002 and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2013.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 son: Doug Davenport of Greensburg

1 daughter & son-in-law: DeDe Wiegel (& Mike) of Campbellsville

2 grandchildren: Jade (& Wesley) Barnes of Brandenburg and Lucais (& Olivia) Davenport of Greensburg

7 great-grandchildren: Jaxon Curry, Zayne Curry, Andrew Barnes, Adam Barnes, Aaron Barnes, Kaitlyn Barnes, and Hunter Curry

2 great-great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Reagan

Several step-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren

A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends

 

Besides her parents and husbands she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Johnathon Davenport in 2019; and by seven siblings: Jewell Neagle, Ted Neagle, Ruby Powell, Margaret Toms, Christal Franklin, Mickey Hood, and Jack Neagle.

Funeral Service: Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. James Walker officiating

 

Burial: Davenport Cemetery 

 

Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Thursday at the funeral home 

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Davenport Cemetery Fund or to the Neagle Cemetery Fund, and can be made at the funeral home.
