Wynemia Bowles Mouser, 98, of McKenzie, TN (a native of Greensburg, KY), passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 30, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1928 in Center, KY, the daughter of the late William Otley Bowles and Leora Huffman Bowles.
She dedicated her life to education, earning her college degree and embarking on a distinguished teaching career that spanned 37 years. Throughout those years, she taught at several schools and positively impacted the lives of countless students.
In 2014, Mrs. Wynemia moved from Greensburg, KY to McKenzie, TN where she became a faithful member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident through her many years of service. She served as an Elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, was active in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women, and served on the Board of the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home. She also devoted her time to healthcare service as a member of a hospital auxiliary board in Texas.

5 grandsons: Jason Mikel (Suzanne), John Shepard, Steven Shepard, Phillip Shepard, and Wesley Mikel

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Jodie DeSpain and Calvin W. Mouser; and her sister, Verenda Roberts.
Wynemia's life was marked by her devotion to her family, her faith, her students, and her church. Her legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bethel University Renaissance, which can be made at either funeral home or church service.
