Sammie Clarence Burns, 80, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Cecil Mink Burns and Ella Mae Logue Burns, was born on August 20, 1945 in Springfield, KY and departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2026 at his home.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Beech Grove Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, Sammie worked in maintenance for International Harvester, Donaldson Company, and Murakami.

His wife of 61 years: Emma L. Woodrum Burns of Greensburg
2 sons & daughters-in-law: Ulis & Cyndi Burns of Louisville and Scotty & Teresa Burns of Greensburg
4 grandchildren: Andrea Burns, Alex Burns, Samuel Burns, and Ella Burns
1 sister: Lillie Taylor of Danville
A host of other relatives & friends
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings: Dorothy Lanham, Elmer C. Burns, and Wanda Mae Clarkson.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Washington County High School Marching Band and can be made at the funeral home or church.
