Janice Jeffries McKinney, 76, of the McKinney Corner community of Green County, KY, daughter of the late Olin and Ortha Pierce Jeffries, was born on February 9, 1950 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in Green County.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Janice worked for 34 years at Fruit of the Loom, was a former CNA for Lifeline Home Health, Jane Todd Crawford Hospital and Bluegrass Way.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Michael McKinney, on August 10, 2005, having united in marriage on December 30, 1966.

3 sons & daughters-in-law: Brian & Jacqueline McKinney, Brandon & Brianne McKinney, and Dustin & Megan McKinney all of Green County

5 grandchildren: Allie McKinney, Izabella McKinney, Madalyn McKinney, Grayson McKinney and Easton McKinney

1 step-grandchild: Braylee Bagby

One adopted grandchild: Tyler Thompson

1 sister: Wanda McKinney of Greensburg

Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Shirley Jeffries, G.L. "Duke" & Betty McKinney, Mark & Tammy McKinney, and Leslie Lee all of Green County

A host of other relatives & friends

She was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson Jeffries; two brothers-in-law: Larry McKinney and Bob Lee; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Grover and Laverne McKinney.

All services will be conducted privately under the direction of Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with inurnment in the McKinney Family Cemetery.
