Jo Ann Sluder, 92, the daughter of the late William Arthur Townsend and Hattie Pearl Riddle Townsend, was born November 18, 1933 and departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville, KY.
Jo Ann professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville First Church of God. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and was a homemaker. Jo Ann enjoyed reading, watching the Cincinnati Reds, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
She was united in marriage to Doyle Austin Sluder and he preceded her in death in 2019. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Ann Brady, and two sisters: Ruth Evelyn Smeltzer and Catherine Louise Hopkins.
SURVIVORS:
2 grandchildren: James Scott “Jamie” Russell (Mashonda), and Kristi Lynn Phillips (Dustin) of Campbellsville
3 great-grandchildren: Shandi Ridner (Trevor) of Somerset, Kayden Phillips and Kaylee Phillips both of Campbellsville
1 great-great-grandchild: Hadley Ridner
Funeral Service: Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00amET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville, KY with Rev. Evan Tedder officiating
Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
Visitation: Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET at the funeral home
