Norma Laverne Russell, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Ray Godsey and Bertha Goode Godsey, was born July 5, 1936 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 3:02pmET on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in Campbellsville.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Baptist Church.

Norma united in marriage to Wallace C. Russell on December 21, 1954 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1992.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after twenty-eight years of service. She later worked as a CNA with Home Health and Medco Nursing Home for several years. Her family said, “she devoted her life to caring for others.”

1 daughter: Rita Kay Russell Ford of Lebanon

2 grandchildren: Kevin Abell Ford and Amanda Vannice & husband Jason of Campbellsville

3 great-grandchildren: Tiffany Ford and Tori Hardin of Lebanon, and Jacob Stewart of Kansas

1 brother: Douglas Godsey & wife Gail of Campbellsville

1 sister: Pat Thompson & husband George of Adair County

Sister-in-law: Marsha Godsey of Adair County

Many other relatives & friends

Norma was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Arlene Smith and a brother, Larry Godsey.
