Virginia Lou Sweeney Curry, 86, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Rev. Walter Gray Sweaney and Annie Vera Lane Sweaney, was born on Saturday, July 1, 1939 and departed this life on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Taylor Regional Hospital. 

She was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. Virginia attended Greensburg High School and graduated in 1957. Throughout her life, she enjoyed keeping up with her classmates and friends, and attending their class reunions.

She united in marriage to William Jerry Curry on June 27, 1975 and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2013.

SURVIVORS:

2 daughters: Karen Lane Curry & her companion Archie Lane Akin of Green County and Kathy Lynn Miller & Danny of Georgia

2 grandchildren: Bradley Miller & Sara and Derron Miller & Sarah, both of Georgia

3 great-grandchildren: Katherine Grace Miller, Miles Maveric Miller, and Scottie Rae Miller all of Georgia

Sister-in-law: Stella Ann Durrett of Green County

Mrs. Curry was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Lane Sweeney and Beulah Elizabeth Sweaney.

Burial: Lane Cemetery
