Billy R. "Pete" Daugherty, 91, Campbellsville, KY

 

Billy R. “Pete” Daugherty, 91, of Campbellsville, KY died on Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026 in Avon, IN. He was born on April 20, 1934 in Campbell County, TN, a son of the late Anthan and Laura Marlow Daugherty.
 

Pete professed faith in Christ, served as Deacon of Indian Heights Baptist Church and most recently was a member of Lebanon Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of Continental Steel and Mitre Construction, both of Kokomo, IN. Pete was also a member of the Taylor County Sheriffs Department, having served on the Lake Patrol, Transportation and as Bailiff.

 

He was married to Joyce Ann Shipp, on August 20, 1960 and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2010. He later married Barbara Sandusky on August 21, 2010 and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2019.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 daughters & sons-in-law: Steve & Pennye Parsons of Avon, Andy & Toni Brock of Kokomo, Teresa & Ron Morgan of Campbellsville

1 son & daughter-in-law: Shannon & Teresa Sandusky of Shepherdsville

5 grandchildren: Paul Parsons of Greenwood, IN, Whitney Meyer & husband Craig of Evansville, IN, Lauren Davis & husband Brian of Kokomo, Bradley Parsons & wife Elizabeth of Greenwood, and Adam Brock & wife Kinsey of Kokomo

8 great-grandchildren: Maddie, Caroline, Grant, Leilani, A.J., Fallynn, Elena, and Isaac

9 step-grandchildren & 12 step-great-grandchildren

 

He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Elmo, Garrett, Oliver “Buck”, Wilsie Jo “Toots”, Jane, and Betty “Corky”; a sister-in-law, Peggy; one step-son, Gerry Sandusky of Madison, IN; and a granddaughter, Casey Schaeffer of Greensburg.
