Melva Beard, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Wilbur Wethington and Bea Stayton Wethington, was born November 17, 1936 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 7:50amET on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in Campbellsville. 

Melva had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved tending her garden and always had a yard full of flowers and plants. Melva enjoyed sewing, crafting, and quilting, and was a member of the Taylor County Extension Homemakers Club.

1 daughter: Janie Beard Hlavinka & husband Brian of East Bernard, Texas

2 sons: Scott Beard & wife Gayle and Jeff Beard, both of Campbellsville

8 grandchildren: Amanda Beard, Richie Zuniga, and Blair Burress & husband Riley all of Campbellsville, Shelby Beard of Palm Coast, Florida, Nathan Hlavinka & wife Mary Kate of Bury St. Edwards, England, Andrew Hlavinka & wife Mallory of Hockley, Texas, Joshua Hlavinka & wife Megan of East Bernard, Texas, and Ethan Hlavinka & wife Raegan of Fulshear, Texas

8 great-grandchildren: Aiden Zuniga, Layla Zuniga, Boe Burress, Jason Burress, Aleah Burress, Henry Hlavinka, Charlotte Hlavinka, and Katherine Hlavinka

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Bernie Beard, and a sister, Martha McCubbin.
