Sue Ann Strakal, 81, of Campbellsville, KY was born in Jamestown, KY on September 3, 1944 to the late Paul I. and Ethel L. (Cundiff) Hammond. She departed this life on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Taylor Regional Hospital.

Sue Ann had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and worked there over 26 years before her retirement. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.

1 daughter: Lisa Claycomb

1 granddaughter: Brittany Claycomb Geralds & husband Samuel

3 siblings: Betty Collins & husband Doug, Carl Hammond & wife Sandy, and Everett Hammond & wife Joyce

Close friend: Jennifer Ford

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives & friends

Mrs. Strakal was also preceded in death by eight siblings: Mona Auberry, Linda Myers, Erastus Hammond, Doug Hammond, Helen Whittle, Johnny Hammond, Joan Conner, and Danny Hammond; and a son-in-law, Ricky Claycomb.

Funeral Service: Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Nathan Rayburn officiating

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery
