OBITS

Carolyn Martin Williams, 83, Elizabethtown, KY

Carolyn Martin Williams, 83, of Elizabethtown, KY (formerly of Green County), daughter of the late John Will Martin and Nellie “Gertie” Akin Martin, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Facility in Hodgenville, KY.

Carolyn loved thrift shops, coffee breaks and spending time with her family. She lovingly hosted holiday meals at the family homeplace which she had renovated, cooking for family and friends she loved. A lifelong friend to many, her spirit of friendship made you feel like the most important person in the room. This spirit which characterized her life is translated into lessons which her friends and family can take solace from. She leaves behind a legacy of love.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She worked for General Electric for 30 years and went on to work as a concierge for Marriott East. Carolyn was a member of VFW Post #1170 Middletown Auxiliary and was a Purple Heart Sister.
