Nona Faye Mays Simpson, 94, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Walter Edward Mays and Lydia Margaret Wright Mays, was born on January 7, 1932 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Grandview Nursing Facility in Campbellsville.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was also a retired machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. after 30 plus years of service and she also enjoyed quilting.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Houston Willis “Hoot” Simpson on August 12, 2019, having united in marriage on November 4, 1949.

2 sons & a daughter-in-law: Larry & Pamela Simpson of Brandenburg, and Roger Simpson of Greensburg
1 daughter: Glenda Brown of Greensburg
10 grandchildren: Brandon & Dana Givens of Tennessee, Lisa & Jeremy Burris of Columbia, Nikki & Jonathan McCroskey of Florida, Erika & Randy Sprowles and Allison Simpson of Campbellsville, Ryan & Amanda Lane, Alexis & Andrew Hubbard, and Jacob and Sydney Cundiff all of Brandenburg, Erin Wise of Omaha, Tammi & Chad Davis of Hardyville

Mrs. Simpson was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Betty Simpson; and her siblings: Cecil Mays, Harris Mays, Clodus “Jo” Mays, LouVera Wright, Irene Milby, Claudine Bonta, and Arvil Vanarsdall.

Burial: New Salem Cemetery
Visitation: Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Thursday after 7:00amCT
