Ruth Arnett Simpson, 88, of Greensburg, KY, a daughter of the late Lewis Arnett and Goldie Nelson Arnett, was born on February 8, 1937 in Taylor County and departed this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Simpson retired from Fruit of the Loom as a machine operator after 43 years.
She was united in marriage to Joedene Simpson on July 20, 1955 who preceded her in death on July 26, 2018.

1 daughter & son-in-law: Elva Jo Coffey & Ronnie of Adair County
2 grandchildren: Bridgette Morgan of Texas and Cody Coffey of Adair County
3 grandchildren: Tyler Atwood of Greensburg, Casen Coffey and Saylor Coffey both of Adair County
4 great-greatgrandchildren: Preston Atwood, Luxton Atwood, Sunni Atwood, Swayzi Atwood
3 sisters: Ruby Milby and Nettie Creason of Greensburg, KY and Kathryn Simpson of Central City
2 brothers: Noah Arnett of Center and Raymond Arnett of Greensburg
A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Martha Edwards, Virginia Akin; and six brothers: Edgar Arnett, Clayton Arnett, Carl Arnett, Woodson Arnett, Frank Arnett, Robert Arnett.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. Thomas Metcalf and Bro. Adam Scott officiating
Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery
Visitation: After 9:30amCT on Wednesday at the funeral home
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund or the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
