Jewell G. Watson, 93, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Willie Virgil Gabbert and Bessie Pearline Thomas Gabbert, was born October 2, 1932 in Pellyton, KY. She died at 1:36 P.M., Thursday, January 1, 2026 in Louisville.  

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a retired insurance agent with Jessie Insurance Agency and Reed Brothers Insurance and enjoyed her office jobs. Jewell was a loving mother and grandma.

She united in marriage to Howard “Jockey” Thomas Watson and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1987.

1 son: Randy Watson & wife Jackie of Elizabethtown

3 grandchildren: Brett Watson of Campbellsville, Sarah Naufel & husband Josh and Hannah Miller & husband Tim of Louisville

3 great-grandchildren: Kylie Hall, Silas Naufel and Stella Naufel of Louisville

1 brother & 2 sisters: Paul David Gabbert & wife Donna of Knifley, Dollie Cox of Campbellsville and Ethel Marie Rains of Tennessee

Jewell was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Marguerite Noel and two brothers and two sisters: Samuel Gabbert, Joel Gabbert, Lillie O. Buckman and Nora Pearl Gabbert.
