James “Jimmy” Garner, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Hobert and Anna Lois Garner, was born May 10, 1946, in Russell County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville First Church of God and was a former employee of Parker-Kalon in Campbellsville, and a Veteran of the United States Army. Jimmy enjoyed restoring old cars and helping many people in the community, and he never met a stranger.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Janice Long, Danny “Red” Garner, Adrian Garner, and Walter Garner.

His wife: Marilyn (Roberts) Garner of Campbellsville
4 children: Gina Wilber of South Carolina, Stephanie Garner, Jennifer Garner, and Crystal Benningfield & husband Joey of Campbellsville
2 brothers and 1 sister: Junior Garner & wife Hilda and Leon Garner of Campbellsville; Yvonne Taylor of Frankfort
His grandchildren: Jamie Frost & husband Billy, Gracie, Alyssa, and Baylee Benningfield
A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY
INTERMENT: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
MILITARY HONORS: Marion County Veterans Honor Guard
VISITATION: After 12:00pmET on Saturday
