Karen Sue Tierney, 79, of Dale, Indiana passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Campbellsville, KY. She was born in Jasper, IN on April 16, 1946 to the late Benjamin and Stella (Zink) Heidorn.

She was a homemaker and the devoted wife to Mr. Francis “Frank” Tierney, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. Francis loved animals, was a member of the Dubois County Humane Society, and a former member of the Jasper Art Guild, yet her most cherished treasures were her children and grandchildren. 

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by three siblings: Betty Jean Drexler, Bobby Heidorn, and Jerry Heidorn; and two grandchildren. 

SURVIVORS:

3 children: Lori Lyons of Dale, IN, Angel Siebe of Campbellsville, KY, and Jaime Schnarr of Huntingburg, IN,

2 siblings: Ruth Ann Neuman of Huntingburg, IN and Steve Heidorn and wife Judy of Jasper, IN

9 grandchildren & numerous great-grandchildren

Burial: Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg, IN

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials take the form of donations to the Dubois County Humane Society. Those can be made in person locally at the funeral home or at the animal shelter in Huntingburg. 

The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hosparus of Green River for their care and compassion during this season of Mrs. Tierney’s life.
