Jerald Eugene Reynolds, 82, Summersville, KY

 

Jerald Eugene Reynolds, 82, of Summersville, KY, a son of the late William Goebel Reynolds and Velma Lillian Riddle Reynolds, was born on July 17, 1943 in Adair County and departed this life on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his home, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. 

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church. Jerald was a graduate of Adair County High School, then went on to serve in the military. He served his country honorably, having served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea. His military service continued for many years as a dedicated member of the Army National Guard, from which he eventually retired with honor. He went on to retire from International Harvester/Navistar.

 

He was honored to be a Kentucky Colonel. Jerald enjoyed the outdoors, tending to the family farm, and caring for his beloved cat, Miss Kitty. He never missed a chance to bring smiles to parade crowds while driving his Shiner car as a member of the Mark Twain Shrine Club. Jerald was also a member of the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM and the Scottish Rite.

His wife of 55 years: Judy Wright Reynolds of Summersville

1 daughter: Cindy Reynolds of Greensburg

1 sister: Evelyn Reynolds of Louisville

1 brother-in-law & 3 sisters-in-law: Jerry Wright of Bowling Green, Peggy Montgomery, Nancy Newton, and Ruby Jessie all of Greensburg

2 nephews & a niece: Paul Reynolds, Jimmy Reynolds, and Rebecca Puckett

Great-nephews & nieces: Keith Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Sonja Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds, and Shannon Matthews

Special cousin: Kenneth Riddle

A host of nieces & nephews from his wife’s side of the family

Other relatives & friends

 

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: William Reynolds and James Reynolds; a sister, Ruth Noe; a nephew, Mike Reynolds; and a great-nephew, Rodney Reynolds.

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with his great-great nephew, Bro. Will Reynolds officiating

 

Burial: Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Honor Guard.

 

Visitation: Friday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT at the funeral home and Saturday after 7:00amCT 

 

A masonic service will be conducted at 6:00pmCT on Friday by the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM, with the remainder of visitation to follow.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Kosair Charities which can be made at the funeral home.
