Cherry Thomas Gore, 86, was born May 16, 1939 in Hart County, KY, a daughter of the late George Leonard Nuckols and Mollie Belle Nuckols. She departed this life at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Center in Gardner, KS on November 7, 2025.
Cherry was the fourth oldest of thirteen siblings. She resided in Hart County, where she met and married James Earnest Edwards in 1956. From this union came her first child, Marjorie. Upon the passing of her first husband, Cherry met and married Russell Duff Bell. From this union came eight children: Ricky, Walter, Mollie, Irvin, Duril, Mac, Wendell, and Anthony, and two stepchildren: Cathy and Ronnie. Sadly, after many years of marriage, Russell passed away in May of 1976. Two years later, in June of 1978, Cherry met and married Reverand John Russell Gore. From this union, Cherry gained an adopted stepson, Anthony Russell Gore. The family moved to Campbellsville, KY that same year. She remained married to Reverend Gore until his passing in 1985.
Cherry resided in Campbellsville for a number of years, where she helped to raise her children and later, grandchildren. Cherry loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed raising them. She also enjoyed walking and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters: Lelia Alexander, Mamie Nuckols, and Dorthy Wilson; and four sons: Mac O’Dell Bell, Wendell Bell, Duril Bell, and Walter Bell.

5 brothers: Leonard Nuckols, George Nuckols, Charles Nuckols (wife, Patrica), Barry Nuckols (wife, Janice), and Paul Nuckols (wife, Sheila)
4 sisters: Hannah Johnson (husband, Leory, deceased), Linda Hall (husband, Ross, deceased), Janice Johnson (husband, Johnny Ray), and Patricia Nuckols
4 sons: Ronnie Bell, Ricky Bell, Irvin Bell, and Anthony Bell (wife, Melissa)
3 daughters: Cathy Slaughter (husband, Raymond, deceased), Marjorie Gore (husband, Tony, deceased), and Mollie Tate (husband, William, deceased)
A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & friends
Many people may know her as Cherry Gore, but to her grandchildren, she will always be fondly remembered as “G-Ma” or “G-Meister.”
