Jewell Rattliff, 93, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Clarence Merritt and Lottie Parrott Merritt, was born February 27, 1932 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Louisville, surrounded by family

Jewell graduated from Campbellsville High School in 1950. She professed faith in Christ and was a long-time member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Jewell was primarily a homemaker but also worked part-time for Supertone Studios and created many transparent oil masterpieces before color photography became widely available. She was active in the lives of her children, chaperoning band trips, attending ball games and always being supportive.

Jewell united in marriage to Herman W. Rattliff on March 18, 1951, who preceded her in death.

1 grandson: Cameron Rattliff & wife Natalie of Charlestown

2 great-grandchildren: Colton Rattliff and Ella Rattliff

2 sisters: Janet Vest and Helen Merritt of Cincinnati

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristi Rattliff Hickerson.
