Junior Simpson, 72, Edmonton, KY (formerly of Greensburg)

 

Junior Simpson, 72, of Edmonton, KY (formerly of Greensburg), son of the late Lucian Simpson and Evelyn Gardner Simpson, was born on October 30, 1952 in Glasgow, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Metcalfe Heath Care Center in Edmonton. 

 

Junior had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Good News Gospel Baptist Church. He worked as a machine operator at TNT Machine Shop and was also the Plant Manager at Taylor-Green Ready Mix Concrete. Junior was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served our country honorably during the Vietnam War.

 

Junior united in marriage to Lydia E. Adkins Simpson on December 20, 1986, who preceded him in death on February 4, 2025.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 daughter & son-in-law: Lois Simpson Estes & Tony of Edmonton

1 brother: Wayne Simpson of Indiana

4 grandchildren: Heather Boston and Kyle Boston, both of Edmonton, Marie White & husband J.R. of Bowling Green, and Whitney Estes & partner Luke Butts of Edmonton

5 great-grandchildren: Kaleb Boston, Ruthie White, Brayton Butts, Everly White, and Brinley Butts

 

Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Florence Wyatt, Jim Simpson, Dilma Harrison, Bob Simpson, Joyce Akin, Shirley Long, and German Dean Simpson.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. Mark Lile and Bro. Robert Adkins officiating

 

Burial: Elmore-Adkins Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 9AM Saturday at the funeral home

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Adkins-Elmore Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
