Freddie Eugene Bland, 76, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Howard Eugene and Valta (Cox) Bland, was born in Taylor County on June 26, 1949. He departed this life on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. He was a logger by trade, fearless by nature, and generous by choice. Freddie suffered a disability at a fairly young age, yet many tales of his earlier exploits remain in circulation. These stories are usually set in the great outdoors, from coon hunting with the best dogs to tales of mules trained well enough to ride in the bed of a pickup truck without racks. The most recent (and cherished), though, are those told of his sweet and gentle personality.
