SGT. Philip Morris Peters, 83, Louisville, KY

 

SGT. Philip Morris Peters, 83, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. 

 

Born in Louisville, Philip was a proud graduate of DeSales High School and a retired Sergeant with the Jefferson County Police Department. He served his community with dedication for over 23 years. He was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith and lived his life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. He would regularly attend mass at Saint Louis Bertrand in Old Louisville and found strength and peace in the sacraments and teachings of the chuch. Philip always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing pool, taking trips to Dale Hollow Lake, and a really good old fashioned.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred 'Shugs' and Connie Peters; his sister, Rita Burns (Paul); and his brothers-in-law, Robert Hall, Cyril Allgeier and Michael Wilbert.

 

SURVIVORS:

His loving wife of 63 years: Bonnie Carol Peters  

3 children: David Peters (Michelle), Brian Peters (Dawn), and Lisa Peters

His siblings: Norma Allgeier, Mary Cretia Hall, Louis Peters (Marsha), Tessa Wilbert, Greg Peters (Lisa), and Kenneth Peters (Heidi)

8 grandchildren: Kristen Brown (Brandon), Sara Peters (Alex), Natalie Peters, Lily Easter, Eva Easter, Jackson Peters, Elaina Peters, and Palmer McNally

3 great-grandchildren: Jasper Brown, Holly Brown, and Sylvia Brown

Visitation: Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. EASTERN TIME at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Road with FOP Lodge #614 service at 4:00 p.m.

 

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. EASTERN TIME at the St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive

 

Burial: Will be private IN GREENSBURG
