Robert Smith, 82, was born February 14, 1943 in Washington County, KY to the late William Joseph Smith and Nellie Rebecca Rudd Smith. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Green River Trails in Greensburg, KY.

Robert spent much of his life farming and building cabinets, work he took great pride in. He and his wife loved digging into family genealogy together and sharing the stories they uncovered. Robert was a devoted University of Kentucky fan and never missed a chance to cheer them on. More than anything, he loved being with his grandchildren who were truly his greatest joy.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Smith; three sisters: Patricia O’Bryan, Lillian Kidwell and Clarine Carrico; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jimmy Carrico, Leo Carrico, Casey Jones, and Louise Smith.

3 brothers: Joe Murray Smith (Imelda) of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Albertus Smith (Linda) of Cox’s Creek, KY and Bernard Smith (Rosemary) of Louisville, KY

6 grandchildren: Gage and Braxton Tucker and Addison Bell of Campbellsville, KY; Alli Wells (Travis), Malorie and Makenna Cox of Elizabethtown, KY

Graveside Service & Burial: Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:00pmET at St. Rose Church Cemetery in Springfield, KY with Father Pepper officiating

Visitation: 9:00am-12:00pmET on Saturday at the funeral home
