Mary Virginia Quillen Scott, 93, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Charles Franklin Quillen and Bonnie Barker Quillen, was born on Tuesday, November 3, 1931 in Dryden, Virginia and departed this life on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Helmwood Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Scott had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Summersville Baptist Church. She was the owner of Tobacco Warehouses and worked as a store clerk for Walmart for 24 years. In her younger years, she was the star basketball player for her high school team. As she got older, she enjoyed cleaning and spending time with her loved ones. She loved listening to music and also had a beautiful singing voice.
She was united in marriage to Clay Richard Scott on February 20, 1954, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1982.

1 daughter & son-in-law: Debbie & Johnny Owens of Radcliff
1 son & daughter-in-law: Clay “Dickie” Scott & Shelia of Summersville
5 grandchildren: Jennifer West and Steven of Georgia, Jonathan Owens and Kylie of Vine Grove, Mary Owens of Nicholasville, Sherri Walker and Brandon of Summersville, and Stephanie Ray and Eric of Hodgenville
10 great-grandchildren: Lana, Kara, Kolton, Alyssa, Landon, Emma, Liberty, Maverick, Xavier, and Daxton
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Kordelia Owens; four brothers: William Quillen, Howard Quillen, Ray Quillen, and Clifford Quillen; and three sisters: Eva Gulley, Fern Musick, Helen Quillen.

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
Visitation: Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Wednesday after 7:00amCT at the funeral home
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
