Belva Magdaline Parrish, 83, of Elk Horn (Acton community), was born May 31, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH, to the late George Allen Uhrig and Bertha Hayes Uhrig Cottingham. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at her home.
Belva was raised by her mother, Bertha, and Lawrence Cottingham, who was like a father to her. She was of the Catholic faith and a homemaker. Belva enjoyed planting flowers, dancing, cooking, and being with her grandchildren.
She had united in marriage to William Parrish, and he preceded her in death in 2000.

2 children: Lisa Morgan and Dakota Roberts.
10 grandchildren: David McCarthy, Ronald McCarthy, Cathy McCarthy, Keith McCarthy, Shelly Smithson, Sean McCarthy, Ricky McCarthy, Amber Eldridge, Kindell Buchanan, and Taylor Buchanan
5 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Dane, Alexis Dane, Aaden Eldridge, Kynslee Eldridge, and Kolten Eldridge
1 brother: George Shelton of Tennessee
1 sister: Bea Uhrig
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three children: Ronnie McCarthy, Keith McCarthy, and Belva Smithson; three sisters and one brother: Betty, Juanita, Margie, and Larry; and also a sister in infancy.
Memorial Service: Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville with Rev. Amy Call officiating
Visitation: After 1:00pmET on Sunday
