Ethel Nelson, 86, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Vernon Russell and Elizabeth Nelson Russell, was born June 12, 1938 in Cass Lake, Minnesota. She died at 10:45 P.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Campbellsville. 

She professed faith in Christ and was a long-time member of Good Hope Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Rochelle, Illinois. Ethel tried to set a good example and was always active and a willing worker at church; she loved planning social and church gatherings and had taught Sunday School for several years. Ethel was a retired bookkeeper, seamstress and a homemaker. 

She united in marriage to Frank D. Nelson June 19, 1954 and he preceded her in death March 22, 2005. 

SURVIVORS:

3 daughters: Debbie Janzen of Campbellsville, Lori Nelson & husband Greg Long of Geneva, Illinois and Cheryl Rerko & husband Tim of Batavia, Illinois

4 grandchildren: Bryce Nelson Blatz, Kyle Edward Blatz & wife Ellen Anderson, Geddy Ann Rerko and Nelson Timothy Rerko

1 sister: Dorothy Thompson of Florida

Many other relatives & friends

She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Francis Russell, Marie Smith and Louise Russell.
