Rev. Garnett Tucker, Jr., 88, Louisville, KY (Green County, KY Native)

 

Rev. Garnett Tucker, Jr., 88, of Louisville, KY (a native of Green County, KY) was born October 11, 1936 to the late Garnett and Media Tucker of Greensburg. He gained his heavenly reward on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in Louisville. 

 

Rev. Tucker dedicated his life to faith, service and ministry for 60+ years with the last 43 years serving as senior pastor at Victory General Baptist Church, 4503 Rose Farm Drive, Louisville, KY where he touched countless lives with his unwavering commitment to his congregation and community.

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Bonnie Ruth Tucker; a son, Terry Wayne Tucker; a great-grandson, Grayson Tucker; two brothers: Talmadge and Tony Tucker of Greensburg; a sister & brother-in-law: Gilbert & Goldenia Padilla of Florida; and two great-nephews: Jon Marc Padilla and John Tyler Slinker.

 

SURVIVORS:

4 children: Garnetta Young (Mike), Denise Dewitt, (Jerry), Tom Tucker (Patty) and Rick Tucker (Barbara)

15 grandchildren: Jason Young (Melissa), Melissa Collins(Daniel), Jennifer Walden (Lewis), Daniel DeWitt, Amanda Black (Brian), Jeremy DeWitt (Marena), Andrew DeWitt (Kristen), Matthew Tucker (Stacy), Steven Tucker (Kelsey), Chelsea Brown (Wes), Sarah Hardy (Tim), Terry Anthony Tucker (Shelby), Michael Tucker, and Christopher Tucker (Morgan)

41 great-grandchildren

3 sisters: Boneva Slinker of Greensburg, Cozella Williams (Danny) of Campbellsburg, and Madonna Slinker (Rex) of Lagrange

2 sisters-in-law: Reva Nell Tucker and Wilma Tucker, both of Greensburg

1 brother-in-law: Adrian “Jake” Davis (Marcia) of Campbellsville

Rev. Tucker leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his family known as “The Tucker Tribe“. His life was a testament to faith, family, and service. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00amET at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY

 

Burial: Louisville Memorial Gardens West

 

Visitation: Friday, January 24, 2025 from 2:00pm-8:00pmET at Owen Funeral Home
