Billy Skaggs, 71, Summersville, KY

 

Billy Skaggs, 71, of Summersville, KY, son of the late Clarence Raymond Skaggs and Marie Lewis Skaggs, was born on February 6, 1953 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at his home. 

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, and previously a member of Aetna Grove Baptist Church where he also served as deacon. Billy was retired as a Kentucky State Highway Department foreman and maintenance and custodian for the Green County School System. He loved fishing, hunting, anything outdoors, but his greatest love was his family.

His wife of 50 years: Debbie Skaggs of Summersville
1 son & daughter-in-law: Steven & Keisha Skaggs of Columbia
1 daughter & son-in-law: Kristi and Marty Young of Greensburg
3 grandchildren: Isaiah Young, Isaac Young, and Keagan Skaggs
1 brother & sister-in-law: Larry & Eva Skaggs of Greensburg
1 nephew: Tony Skaggs

Funeral Service: Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. Kelvin Edwards officiating
 
Burial: Green County Memory Gardens
 
Visitation: Saturday, December 12, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Sunday after 7:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home 
 
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.
