Larry Wayne “Flint” Akin, 67, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Simon Day Akin and Vernice Mouser Akin Sprowles Carns, was born in Campbellsville on June 29, 1957 and departed this life on Sunday, October 5, 2024 in Summersville, KY.
Larry professed faith in Christ and attended God’s Grace Church. He was a bricklayer by trade. He enjoyed fishing, arrowhead hunting, making knives from antlers, hunting and making canes, and shooting old guns.

2 daughters: Shawn Akin Sowders, and Tracy Akin Montgomery & fiancé Kyle Mardis, both of Campbellsville
6 grandchildren: Nathan Sowders, Nova Sowders, J.J. Sowders, Makayla Montgomery, Kayden Cox, and Brayson “Bubba” Cox
A host of step-brothers and step-sisters
Special cousin & friend: David Mouser & wife Debbie of Campbellsville
His dog: Lady Kay
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Genia Sherrill; a brother, Thomas Sprowles; one grandson, Jaxson Wayne Sowders; and a son-in-law, Josh Sowders.
