Robert Lewis Smothers, 66, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Murrell Smothers and Hallie Russell Smothers Despain, was born in Campbellsville on April 20, 1958 and departed this life on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Smothers professed faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. He was formerly employed as a grave digger until becoming disabled.

3 grandchildren: Corey Caldwell, Cheyenne Atwood, and Tyler Atwood
4 great-grandchildren: Riley Simmons, Kinsley Atwood, Kayden Atwood, and Colton Atwood
1 brother: Gary Smothers (Vicki) of Russell Springs
3 sisters: Judy Smothers and Pat Dial (Roy) of Glasgow; Jenna Fay Bottoms (Larry) of Summersville
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Smothers.
Funeral Service: Friday, October 4, 2024, at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Freddy Thompson officiating
Burial: Caldwell Chapel Cemetery
Visitation: After 11:00amET on Friday until time of service
