Sheryl Joan Crawford Luken, 83, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 in Elizabethtown, KY. She was born on August 26, 1941 in Burlington, IA.

Sheryl grew up in both Iowa and Miami. She attended Coral Gables High School in Miami, graduated from Campbellsville College and received her master’s degree from Western Kentucky University. She spent her career dedicated to education and making a difference in the lives of others through her compassionate and tireless efforts.

Sheryl was known for her vibrant personality, endless kindness, and infectious enthusiasm. Whether through her professional endeavors, volunteer work through her beloved church, or as a loving family member, she had a remarkable ability to uplift and connect with everyone around her. She loved her “Sunday School Girls.” Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, and her heart was ever open to those in need.

SURVIVORS:

2 children: Gerrek Luken (Lisa) and Greg Luken (Kelley)

5 grandchildren: Trisha, Zander, Tegan, Ford, and Baily

Her husband of 63 years: Leo Luken

Memorial Service: lSeptember 5, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET in the Upper Chapel at Severn’s Valley, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, KY
 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sheryl’s memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Severn’s Valley Baptist Church.

Sheryl’s legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of being part of her life.
