Bernie Mings, 84, Campbellsville, KY

 
Bernie Mings, 84, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Arlin T. Mings and Lola Belle Shirley, was born November 15, 1939 in Campbellsville, and departed this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Taylor Regional Hospital.

 

Bernie professed faith in Christ and attended Feathersburg First Church of God. He was a member of the Green County Skydiving Club in Bardstown. He would parachute to kick off the 4th of July parade in Campbellsville and skydived as Santa for the Christmas parade. In 1990 he established Creative Video in Campbellsville. He continued to serve families by taking pictures and videos up to his passing. He had a creative eye for camera angles and the hobby became a business that recorded once in a lifetime memories.

6 daughters & 1 son: Darlene Prather & husband James of Shepherdsville; Doug Mings & wife Vicki of Madisonville; Shelly Perkins of Campbellsville; Kathy Jaglowicz & husband Joseph of Lebanon; Christy Sluder & husband Chad of Mt. Juliet, TN; Dana Hill & husband Billy of Elizabethtown; and Myra Mings & her significant other Mike Robertson of Liberty
Special friend: Veva Geralds of Campbellsville
19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren 
1 brother & 2 sisters: Ralph Mings & wife Georgie, Linda Leigh, and Brenda Bright all of Elk Horn

He was preceded in death by two sons: Frankie Mings in 1961 and Mike Mings in 2019, and two brothers: Sid Mings and Randall Mings.

 
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12:00pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with Bro. Alex Cox and Bro. Danny Morris officiating 
 
BURIAL: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
 
VISITATION: Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pmET at the funeral home
