Linzie A. “J.R.” Bishop passed away and entered his heavenly home on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY.
Mr. Bishop died from Parkinson’s and was a strong man fighting the battle. He was a Man of God, loved jogging and golfing, bicycle riding, and above all he was a true family man. Mr. Bishop retired from Tennessee Gas after 35-plus years. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church and loved his Sunday School class. Mr. Bishop loved to run marathons and was a star baseball and basketball player for Green County schools.

2 daughters: Traci Lobb and Jennifer Tucker & companion Larry Agee
2 grandsons: Dr. Brandon Frank (Sarah) and Colton Lobb (Hanna)
1 granddaughter: Lindsay Brown (Josh)
9 great-grandchildren: Caleb Frank, Noah Frank, Hope Frank, Anna Kate Frank, Jonah Lobb, Evie Lobb, Wylder Brown, Joss Brown and Karter Brown
1 brother: Larry Bishop (Brenda)
Sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Jackie & Billy Coffey
Special friends: Mike Mitchell and Jimmy Bishop
Special caregiver: Juanna
A host of many friends
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters: Janet Bishop Diamond, Inex Bishop Ennis, and Exie Bishop Burress.
Funeral Service: Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Todd Young officiating
Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens
Visitation: After 12:00pmET on Thursday
