Martha Corbin, 86, Campbellsville, KY


Martha Corbin, 86, daughter of the late Walter Rainwater and Hattie Harrison Rainwater, was born on February 9, 1938 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 3:10 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2024 in Campbellsville. 

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was named after her maternal grandmother and family was the motivation for all she did. Martha was a graduate of Taylor County High School and attended Campbellsville College. She was an extremely intelligent lady who worked hard; she was an accomplished seamstress and worked along side her husband and sons to establish Corbin Dairy Farm. She was known for her quality care of each calf, dog and cat that lived on the family’s farm. Martha also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She dearly loved her family and worked hard to provide for them.

 

She united in marriage to Bradley Eugene Corbin on January 18, 1958 and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2011.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 son & daughter-in-law: David & Janice Corbin of Campbellsville

4 grandchildren: Ashley Corbin Wise & husband Nathan and Jenna Corbin Newton & husband Tyler of Campbellsville, Brittany Corbin Tackett & husband Derek of Scottsville, and Josie Embry of Buffalo

3 great-grandchildren; Sadie Wise, Katie Wise and Finley Tackett

4 sisters: Carolyn Bright, Arlene Herron and Edith Humphress & husband Billy of Campbellsville, and Joanna Gilbert & husband Bill of Georgia

Several nieces & nephews

Many other relatives & friends
 

Martha was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Corbin on June 12, 2019; a daughter in infancy, Margaret Elizabeth Corbin; and two brothers and one sister:  Ronnie Rainwater, Douglas Rainwater and Marilyn Poff.

BURIAL: Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Adair County, KY

 

VISITATION: Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 6:00pm-9:00pmET at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home
