Donald C. Whitley, 84, of Elizabethtown, KY, the son of the late Wesley Whitley and Mae Ferguson Whitley, was born on May 1, 1940 in Campbellsville, KY and departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin.
Donald was a retired employee of the Kentucky Dept. of Transportation and was the prior owner and barber at Don’s Barber Shop. He was a graduate of the Louisville Barber College and was a proud Democrat. He professed faith in Christ, and was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Methodist Church, and attended the Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Kelly Whitley on March 12, 2017; five brothers: Dean Whitley, Lewis Whitley, Joe Whitley, Rev. Jerry Whitley, and Howard Whitley; a grandchild, Destiny Shelton; and his furry companion, Beng.

2 sons: Marcus Whitley & wife Stacey of Leitchfield and Donnie Whitley of Elizabethtown
4 grandchildren: Landon Pauley Whitley, Sydne Hope Whitley, Ian Hinson, and Ethan Hinson and wife Nicole
3 great-grandchildren: Aubrey Hinson, Keaston Hinson, and Ahliana Hinson
One sister: Charlotte Callahan
Funeral Service: Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY
Burial: Memorial Gardens
Visitation: Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET at the funeral home
