Richard Nicholas “Nicky” McClanahan, 87, of Clinton, KY, the son of the late John and Willie Ruth (Turner) McClanahan, was born February 23, 1937 in Fulton County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, a veteran of the United States Army, and was the owner and operator of Nicky’s Barbeque in Clinton, KY. Nicky enjoyed sports in general and was an avid Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He also enjoyed quail hunting and fishing, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McClanahan.

SURVIVORS:

2 daughters: Gay Pillow & husband Robert and Lisa Eason & husband Rodney, both of Campbellsville

4 grandchildren: Brandon High & wife Valerie, Maegan Despain & husband Jeremiah, Makayla Spalding & husband Dylan, and Pvt. Charlie Eason

4 great-grandchildren: Payton High, and Lukas, Kylee, and Waylon Despain

The family chose cremation and a memorial service will be held later this month in Clinton, KY. The date, time, and location will be published as soon as they become available.
