Thomas Edward "Tom" Smith, 82, Campbellsville, KY

 

Thomas Edward “Tom” Smith, 82, of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Arizona, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 18, 2024 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born in Wilcox, Arizona on September 7, 1941 to the late O.T. and Marjorie (Potts) Smith.

 

Mr. Smith was an entrepreneur by trade. He was a devout member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church while holding close his Catholic roots. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army and a proud supporter of the American Legion, and a graduate of Eastern Arizona College and Northern Arizona University. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to tease people, but was ever the gentleman. A man of many talents and interests, he especially enjoyed a round of golf and usually had a camera close to capture the moment.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife of 41 years: Lula Raye (Carney) Smith

3 children: Chris Carney & companion Ann Franklin of Campbellsville, Leann Moyers & husband T.J. of Arizona, and Andy Kaiser & wife Mary of California

1 sister: Ricki Huggins of Arizona

2 sisters-in-law: Kay Krug and Cindy Williams

5 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren

A host of extended family and friends in Arizona and Kentucky, including lifelong friends Gus (or, “Elvis”), Linda, and Rosie, and others too numerous to mention

 

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Marta Lou Schultz and Rilla Cunningham.

  

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. John Butler officiating

 

Visitation: Saturday after 12:00pmET at the funeral home
