Tony Matney, Sr., 81, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Cecil Matney and Opal Kessler Matney, was born on December 11, 1942 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Mr. Matney had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and Little Barren Separate Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the United States Army, a business owner, a Gideon speaker, served on the Campbellsville Emmaus Walk Board, a member of the First Service Band, as well as a loving dad, husband, brother, pa, and special friend.

His wife of 31 years: Patricia Rose Matney of Greensburg
2 sons: Tony Matney Jr. and Rodney Parrish both of Greensburg
3 grandchildren: Hannah Parrish, John Parrish, and Raelyn Matney all of Greensburg
3 great-grandchildren: Noah Parrish, Leah Rose Parrish, and Layla Parrish all of Greensburg

Funeral Service: Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Honor Guard
Visitation: Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and after Friday after 7:00amCT
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
